Our Sustainability Process
Sustainability and Carbon Management
At Cloud Artisans, we prioritise sustainability and we are committed to playing our part in mitigating climate change through our business operations and services. We recognise the importance of any business whether it is small or large to be aware of their impact on the environment and its inhabitants and set measurable and achievable goals to ameliorate their impact.
We have taken part in three sustainability and carbon management programmes with Nottingham Trent University; the Sustainability Community Lab, the Carbon Management programme and the Carbon Literacy Programme. This gave us a better understanding of both what we can do to reduce our own carbon footprint as well as encourage and enable our stakeholders to consider their own impact.
Internships and Engagement
Additionally, since 2023 we have taken part in two internship programmes, one with Nottingham Trent University and the other with De Montfort University where two interns supported the planning and design of our new sustainability service. This offering allows us to support our clients to either begin or continue their own sustainability journey with the support of our team and their collective expertise. We strive to continue engaging with these schemes to pursue creating opportunities for young people.
Carbon Footprint Management
We will calculate our baseline carbon footprint using the Government’s Remote Working Guidelines to determine what our biggest impact is. We will then set SMART goals to reduce/remove this. We will also calculate our carbon footprint.
We will analyse and monitor the carbon footprint of both our own website and those we host, along with our online activities, using recognised sustainable tools. Then, we'll implement a reduction plan with annual goals to lessen our impact.
We will strive to continually improve our environmental performance and reduce our impact by periodically reviewing our environmental policy.
Sustainable Practices & Partnerships
We will continue to use green providers and when sourcing any suppliers in the future we will ensure they have an environmental policy in place or are on a sustainability journey themselves.
When the team does travel in for meetings or work-related activities we will promote the use of public transport and/or cycling where possible.
Staff Training and Awareness
We will continue to promote environmental awareness among our staff and encourage them to work in an environmentally responsible manner.
We will train our staff about environmental awareness and best practices relevant to their own sector of the business as well as a wider knowledge of the organisation’s general expectations and practices.
Client Communication and Engagement
We will communicate our environmental commitment to clients, updating our website and social media accounts with our journey, including achievements and areas for improvement or re-evaluation.
